    Future Builders: Youth and Adult STEAM

    Design Hive’s Makers for Life initiative brings hands-on STEAM learning to youth and adults through two dynamic programs: SMART House for 4th–8th graders, where students impacted by the wildfires design and build tech-enabled miniature homes, and Maker Nights, a creative technology series for adults. These project foster creativity, confidence, and real-world skills using tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, and coding platforms. Expanding access to emerging technologies builds a more connected, creative, and future-ready Los Angeles.

    School Maker Spaces Empower K-12 Innovators

    This grant will support the creation and sustainability of state-of-the-art maker spaces in schools, providing students with hands-on, experiential learning opportunities in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). These innovative spaces have positive impacts on mental health by fostering creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. Design Hive's unique curriculum empowers students from diverse backgrounds to envision themselves as innovators and problem solvers in their own communities and around the world.
