What is your understanding of the issue that you are seeking to address?
The Harmony Launchpad Project seeks to address the barriers that underrepresented holistic practitioners including women, Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC) Angelenos face when building sustainable healing businesses. These practitioners often lack access to safe, affordable spaces and community support, making it difficult to stay motivated, attract clients, or confidently market their services. Through our program, we offer resources, mentorship, educational opportunities, internships, networking, job placement, and accessible space to help them transform their gifts and certifications into thriving, community-rooted practices.
Describe the project, program, or initiative this grant will support to address the issue.
The Harmony Launchpad Project is a community-based initiative designed to support underrepresented holistic practitioners in launching and growing sustainable, impactful wellness businesses. Led by a certified holistic professional and licensed marriage and family therapist, the program is rooted in both professional expertise and lived experience. It was created in response to the real challenges faced by healers from marginalized backgrounds, including women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people with disabilities, who often lack access to affordable, affirming spaces and entrepreneurial guidance.
The program provides trauma-informed space for classes and services, mentorship, business development training, marketing support, and workshops on community engagement. We offer both in-person and virtual access to increase accessibility for those with mobility limitations, caregiving responsibilities, or transportation barriers. Additional program components include internships, job placement support, networking opportunities, and education on how to turn holistic gifts and certifications into viable income streams.
By removing structural and financial barriers, the Harmony Launchpad not only uplifts individual practitioners but also expands access to culturally relevant wellness services across underserved communities in Los Angeles.
Describe how Los Angeles County will be different if your work is successful.
If the Harmony Launchpad Project is successful, Los Angeles County will see a rise in diverse, community-based holistic practitioners who reflect and serve underrepresented populations. Women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people with disabilities will have greater access to the tools, space, and support needed to build sustainable wellness businesses. More residents in underserved areas will access affordable, culturally relevant healing services. As practitioners grow in confidence and income, they will reinvest in their communities, increasing well-being, economic opportunity, and social connection. Wellness will become more inclusive and accessible across LA.
