CONNECT ·2024 Grants ChallengeGroundbreaking Autism Intervention for Vulnerable Children and their Families
Autism is neither a pathology nor a disease—it’s a unique way of experiencing the world and communicating. However, many children on the spectrum suffer not only from hyper-sensitivity but also from a chronic “lack of fit” with their surroundings, making them hyper-anxious, withdrawn and isolated. Through an innovative psychodynamic therapeutic model specifically designed for autistic children, Vista will help these clients and their families reclaim their confidence and sense of self—enabling them to feel happier and more satisfied.

Vista Del Mar provides counseling and case management services throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area. More than 80% of our clients are from low-income households, and do not have the means to travel to our campus in West Los Angeles for face-to-face therapy. While online therapy provides an opportunity for us to reach these clients, we must first upgrade our technology to enable us to provide video counseling and other online services.
