Inglewood Community Doula Training Program
Venice Family Clinic will launch a doula training program to support better birth outcomes for BIPOC families while building a doula business incubator for Inglewood-area residents. Alongside our existing Inglewood clinics and programs, we will work within the community to recruit and train prospective doulas, providing coaching, reflective support groups, business development, and job placement. Ultimately, doulas will be able to launch their own practices while building a community of support to push back at the root causes of birth inequity.

Emergency Food Partnership
Venice Family Clinic and UCLA are combatting food insecurity in our community through the Emergency Food Partnership. Our program harnesses the talents of UCLA food service workers to create nutritious take-home meals for hundreds of people in need, which promotes health and economic stability for our most vulnerable patients while preserving employment during the pandemic. It combines access to healthy meals with evidence-based education that teaches participants about the value of using food as medicine to help them get well and stay well.

West L.A. Votes! — A Civic Engagement Initiative
Venice Family Clinic will mobilize Angelenos across West L.A. to make their voices heard through a non-partisan outreach initiative that will make politics, politicians, and the polls more accessible. Through West L.A. Votes! we will launch a government education campaign, train volunteers to connect residents to voting resources, and bridge the gap between voters and local officials by promoting dialogue in community settings. We believe that increasing civic engagement among the families we serve is critical to driving health equity.
