    Altadena RV Temporary Housing Project

Our goal is to help Eaton Fire survivors regain stability, security, and hope by providing RVs as fast, adaptable, and comfortable temporary housing while restoring their homes. Dodger legend Kenny Lofton approached El Monte RV with this idea. A donor gave $30,000. Pasadena Community Foundation asked for our support. We convened a team of collaborators with expertise for this new project. Our goal is to help 30 families rent discounted RVs for $1/month for a year or more or provide $15,000 down payment assistance to purchase RVs at a discount.

    Orchestra Expansion: Meeting Soaring Demand

With events reaching max capacity in record time (80 registrations in 3.5 hours for our June 1st gathering), this grant enables our orchestra to add more music-making events, ensuring everyone who wants to experience the magic of TACO is able to. We'll also increase our female conductor's rate, actively hire diverse conductors, and pay our female led staff who have been working as volunteers since we launched in 2019.

    Affordable Housing on Religious Land

Making Housing & Community Happen has a team of experts who advises religious congregations to provide affordable housing on their underutilized land. Most congregations would not be successful without our services. We offer this service gratis for about 20 congregations each year. We support congregations with feasibility studies, architectural concepts, and requests for proposals (RFP) and more. Our educational work includes Housing Justice Forums and Institutes. The Institutes foster teams to promote affordable housing in cities county-wide.
