The Latino and Latina Roundtable proposes a pilot training program to teach people how to clean solar panels and create a local onramp for employment in the solar tech field. Trainees will work their way to diagnostic and servicing homes. Locally there is a high need for local on site training programs and demand in the San Gabriel Valley area, especially Pomona. We have tried to find ways to collaborate with agencies like LACI, however the distance is a tremendous barrier. The goal is to incubate a tech hub in this region with this project.

Rising Together for A New Economy

The project Rising Together for A New Economy was developed in response to the severe inequality and wage gap that we have seen in the last decade, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Discussions of a new economy had been happening within our organization. The pandemic was the catalyst for action. Our goal is to start a local worker owned coop in which workers earn livable wages, have health care benefits, and support the local economy in collaboration with anchor institutions committed to investing in local labor and transformation.
