    Tenant Empowered Affordable Housing Preservation

    LiBRE empowers tenants with the resources, moral support, and innovative solutions needed to avoid displacement through Know Your Rights workshops, Neighborhood Tenant Council meetings, and our involvement in the creation of Long Beach’s first Community Land Trust. Our members are educated on tenants' rights, housing policy, and advocacy and are making a difference in their neighborhoods already!

    Community-Powered Social Enterprise Launchpad

    Academies for Social Entrepreneurship (ASE) equips aspiring changemakers from underserved communities with the tools, mentorship, and real-world training needed to launch mission-driven businesses. Through expert-led workshops, financial literacy, pitch competitions and forums, participants gain the confidence and skills to turn bold ideas and innovations into profitable, sustainable ventures.

    Transforming Los Angeles students into welcome ambassadors: The Miry's List Welcome Workshop mobilizes hundreds of student volunteers to become active participants in welcoming resettling refugee families to LA by creating personalized welcome kits for individuals and families. As students participant in the workshop, they learn about displacement and experience the power of direct action to build belonging and make a difference. One kit, one student, one family at a time, we're creating a more welcoming Los Angeles.

    Our Institute proposes to offer integrative and holistic health and wellbeing prevention and intervention practices to individuals that may not have access to services due to health disparities. Our goal is to introduce health strategies to underserved individuals so that they can incorporate into their daily life wellness practices that benefit and maintain their physical, mental, emotional and life-philosophy health.
