The Planning Report (TPR) is the city’s go-to source for insights on land use, planning, infrastructure, and public policy, amplifying the voices of civic leaders, planners, and developers.
About this job
You’ll contribute to both VX and TPR through editorial work, event planning, and communications:
- Transcribe and edit interviews with policymakers and innovators
- Help craft marketing materials, web content, and social media strategies
- Support production of our newsletters and event logistics
- Attend team meetings and contribute to high-impact projects
- Engage real-time with leaders shaping LA’s future
Roles & responsibilities
Part-Time Internships: Require ~10–15 hours/week, with at least 1 in-person day/week in DTLA. Ideal for candidates in sustainability or urban planning-related graduate school programs.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For: Proactiveness, adaptability, and commitment to civic engagement.
Plus any experience with the following:
- Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)
- Mailchimp, Cvent, SquareSpace
- Knowledge of basic communications/ marketing principles
- Editorial skills (grammar, punctuation, etc.)
- Social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram)
- Interest in clean energy, sustainability, public infrastructure, and LA’s policy landscape
