We are looking for youth between the ages of 18 to 24 who have a passion and interest in building a cleaner and greener future. Join the LA Regional Cleantech Academy starting September 16th, 2025, for a 12-week PAID HYBRID internship designed to jumpstart your career in cleantech. Program meets over Zoom on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4 PM to 6:30 PM. Applications close on Friday August 22nd, 2025
Roles & responsibilities
Program Highlights
- Earn & Learn – Participants receive a monthly stipend paid at $17.87/hr to build their clean energy knowledge
- Hybrid Format - Participate in live sessions, with select few in-person events to immerse yourself in LA's green economy
- Site Visits - Visit LA based cleantech companies and get a behind-the-scenes look on how they operate
- Partner Internships – Participants who complete the program will have the opportunity to apply and interview for another paid internship with one of our industry partners such as Big Energy Group, Inframark, and Chargie
- Job Preparation – Acquire all the tools to succeed in your career, we will assist participants with mock interviewing, resume writing, networking, and more!
- Career Connections – Connect with industry professionals and gain insights into obtaining a green job
- Youth facing barriers (economic, social, systemic) are highly encouraged to apply. No experience is required!
Qualifications
- Current Resident of L.A. County; Proof Required
- Must be 18 to 24 years old
- Must meet income eligibility guidelines (e.g., SNAP/CalFresh Recipient, Pell Grant Eligible, or similar low-income status)
- Must have legal right to work status; provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S
- Access to an internet-enabled device and Wi-Fi; on-camera presence is required
- Interest in learning about the cleantech economy (no prior industry/work experience is required)
- Commitment to 12 weeks of required, on-camera, virtual sessions, 2x a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4-6:30 p.m.)
- Availability to attend MANDATORY, in-person sessions, including the kick-off event, graduation ceremony and at least two employer site visits in the L.A. area
