The Development Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating comprehensive fundraising and donor engagement initiatives. This position will assist in advancing the organization's mission by coordinating key development projects, including donor cultivation events, special campaigns, direct mail, and dedicated giving programs like Tree Dedications, The Canopy, Workplace Giving, FreeWill etc.

The Development Program Coordinator will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the successful execution of these initiatives, with a focus on enhancing donor relations, increasing revenue, and fostering community engagement. This role requires a proactive and organized individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for environmental conservation.

Roles & responsibilities

Coordinate development projects, including Tree Dedications and Direct Mail, transitioning into full-scale responsibility for these programs.

Administer the Tree & Bench Dedication program and The Canopy monthly giving program, ensuring they align with organizational goals and objectives.

Anticipate the needs and requirements to meet tight project timelines, while adapting to adjustments as needed.

Support and assist in managing technical projects and corresponding timelines to improve systems efficiency and increase donation revenue. Work with the Development Revenue Operations Manager to d grow the Workplace Giving and FreeWill programs.

Develop project plans, timelines, and templates for launching new initiatives and marketing strategies, and ensure the team stays on track of deadlines.

Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Marketing & Communications) and external partners (e.g., print shops, design firms) to execute projects efficiently, and follow up as needed to ensure timeliness of deliverables.

Weekly management/clean up of the Development Google Calendar and OGSM Events Calendar.

Expand the Tree Dedication program, focusing on creating new card offerings for various occasions and holidays.

Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure website functionality and effective promotion through social media, newsletters, and other channels.

Optimize user experience and track donations to increase revenue and engagement.

Ensure the timely update of seasonal Tree Dedication cards on the website, both digitally and mailed.

Have a full understanding of the Shopify and Classy ordering ecosystems, including the Salesforce integrations of each. Act as point of contact with any developers to make updates to our Shopify platform.

Organize the refresh of The Canopy monthly giving program collateral and develop strategies to attract new members. This may include but is not limited to: Implementation of strategies with Corporate Volunteering and Community Engagement Teams

Engage in regular acknowledgement of Canopy Membership through direct mail pieces and dedicated correspondences.

Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to create video projects to boost membership and engagement.

Have a full understanding of back end Membership management (updating plan details and answering donor questions)

Utilize iWave and other tools to conduct regular screenings of the donor database, focusing on potential major donors, by utilizing iWave and other tools to.

Analyze and segment donor data to support the expansion of the major donor portfolio.

Understand Development Salesforce revenue tracking, as well as basic Finance revenue Accounting practices.

Assist the Development Revenue Operations Manager in building and pulling Salesforce reports and in acting as a liaison to the Finance team.

Aid Development Revenue Operations Manager in improving systems efficiency regarding our workplace giving platform and planned giving platform (Double the Donation and Freewill, respectively).

Assist in implementing volunteer matching pushes in coordination with the Teams for Trees Program Manager. Coordinate meaningful email pushes to those donors with high value matching opportunities.

Have a full understanding of the FreeWill platform and be able to answer any customer service questions in a timely manner. FreeWill platform point person with expertise to answer customer service questions in a timely manner.Work with FreeWill and Marketing & Communications team to plan and implement emails and marketing pushes.

Act as a liaison with external project stakeholders, including donors, and community members.

Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders to support project success and organizational goals.

Assist in answering member inquiries via phone and email in a 24-48 hour time frame.

Plan, support, and lead development cultivation events, including donor appreciation events, fundraising galas, and special campaigns.

Collaborate with the various teams to ensure seamless execution of events, from planning through to post-event follow-up.

Develop and implement strategies to engage and cultivate potential donors through events, creating meaningful experiences that align with TreePeople’s mission.

Oversee event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and guest list management.

Track and analyze event outcomes to continuously improve and innovate cultivation strategies.

Assist the Development Revenue Operations Manager and the Director of Development with managing project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources along with invoicing and billing.





Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies/science, communications, marketing, journalism, business administration, or a liberal arts field is a plus.

Fundraising and campaign experience in the environmental, social justice, or conservation field is strongly preferred.

Ability to build productive relationships with a variety of constituents.

Must have familiarity with various fundraising concepts and demonstrate a command of industry standards, ethics, and integrity.

Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Must be organized with strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Working knowledge of Salesforce, Double the Donation, FreeWill, Shopify and/or Classy/GoFundMe Pro is a plus.

A strong alignment with TreePeople’s mission and a passion for the environment is important.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer/laptop.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds when needed.
