About this organization
The Southern California Association of Non-Profit Housing (SCANPH) is a regional, membership organization promoting the production, preservation, and management of homes affordable to low-income people throughout the Southern California region. Our roughly 250 organizational members—including about 1,400 individuals—are based primarily in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties, and include non-profit housing developers, private businesses, property management companies, government agencies, and social service organizations.
A core component of SCANPH’s work is building educational content that directly supports the capacity of both affordable housing professionals and public sector staff. By giving affordable housing advocates, jurisdictions, and nonprofit developers greater industry knowledge and opportunities to engage with their peers at our training and technical assistance programs, we strengthen the industry’s ability to create more housing, while also advancing awareness, fostering collaboration, and expanding cross-sector knowledge. This role will help SCANPH grow its capacity to deliver new events and programming to meet the needs of our expanding membership.
About this job
SCANPH seeks an Associate of Programming & Events to assist with its member facing events and programming. The Associate of Programming & Events will support the planning, coordination, and execution of SCANPH’s public programs and events, including trainings, conferences, membership meetings, and community engagement activities. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about affordable housing and social impact.
A successful SCANPH Associate will have strong project management skills, particularly exquisite attention to detail, speed mixed with accuracy, highly responsive, and a strong communicator with a desire to learn, take initiative, and advance awareness of affordable housing. A self-directed worker is paramount. Our programs engage members in purposeful dialogue and a strong candidate will have an interest in housing policy and the ideation of programs that respond to member needs on a variety of emerging topics.
The Associate of Programming & Events will report to the Director of Public Affairs, and the position is full-time.
