The Palisades Community Renewal Center (PCRC), a program of the Picerne Family Foundation, is a community center for persons impacted by the Palisades fires. It is a place for healing, renewal and rebuilding. Services include counseling/therapy, arts programming, wellness activities and a variety of events designed to re-connect community members.
The Picerne Family Foundation’s mission is to develop and support innovative programs that provide opportunities for individuals to increase their abilities, knowledge, talent and understanding in ways that will help them better contribute to creating active and healthy communities.

The PCRC Director provides leadership, oversight, planning, management and coordination of PCRC operations, staff, service providers, programs, services and facilities – ensuring smooth daily operations, and that the PCRC thrives and delivers the highest quality of programming/services to the community.
Roles & responsibilities
Relationships / Client Service
• Address client/constituent inquiries/needs effectively – offering a friendly and professional point of contact so that the above feel valued and understood. Ensure all staff and service professionals do the same.
• Make certain that client/constituent interactions, such as emails, calls, and meetings are documented and/or followed up on promptly and personally as required. Ensure all staff do the same.
Program, Project and Event Oversight/Management
• Ensure excellent planning and coordination of programs, projects, activities and events – including visioning, clarifying goals/objectives, budgeting, coordinating space, managing staff time, and managing PCRC resources.
• Ensure effective collaboration with service providers and vendors to schedule space and services – making certain PCRC staff do the same.
• Oversee special and routine projects, including identifying resource needs, tracking deadlines, organizing workflows and supporting team efforts.
• Ensure effective management of clients, guests and participants – including invitations, registration, creating positive experiences and follow up.
Public Relations, Outreach and Marketing
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with community members, local organizations, volunteers and stakeholders to ensure a positive public awareness and active support for PCRC services, events, activities and reputation.
• Ensure PCRC has a presence on social media platforms – maintaining positive public engagement and reputation through consistent messaging and content using strong digital literacy skills.
• Ensure all program, marketing and outreach materials are well crafted and consistent with a positive public image for the PCRC.
Vendor Management and Coordination
• Research, negotiate contracts, hire and manage relationships with vendors, in consultation and coordination with the Executive Director, ensuring the best value for services (e.g., IT support, cleaning services, office supply companies, and special events providers).
• Manage vendor agreements and compliance – reviewing for renewal or termination as needed.
• Adhere to Picerne Family Foundation policies and procedures while accomplishing the above.
Management
• Hire the Office Manager with final approval by the Foundation Executive Director and Picerne Family Foundation Advisors.
o Oversee the recruitment process – ensuring that the Office Manager embodies the right skills, talents and personal traits for a smoothy running office and that every aspect of the office environment reflects the PCRC high standards, mission and values.
• Supervise PCRC Office Manager:
o Ensure proper on boarding and training in his/her role – orienting him/her to PCRC culture, policies, procedures and specific job responsibilities.
o Set performance expectations – providing feedback, proactively addressing performance issues, conducting performance reviews and recognizing excellent performance.
o Provide leadership and guidance – delegating tasks and responsibilities appropriately while motivating, encouraging teamwork and helping to set goals and priorities.
• Ensure effective Volunteer management – recruiting, training and supporting engaged, motivated volunteers for various programs and events.
• Ensure Office Manager and Volunteers have appropriate resources and tools they need to perform their duties effectively.
• Ensure Office Manager and Volunteers are aware of and adhere to Picerne Family Foundation policies, procedures, safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in administrative leadership for a human service organization preferred.
Master's degree in a human service field preferred but not required.
Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish highly functional relationships with diverse personalities both within and outside the PCRC, including children, adolescents and seniors – demonstrating emotional intelligence, warmth, approach-ability, empathy, active listening, patience, reliability, confidence. diplomacy, thoughtfulness, and clear communication.
Ability to work proactively and autonomously on a daily basis – demonstrating strong time management skills.
Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills, initiative, and sense of urgency to complete priority tasks.
High level of personal flexibility and willingness to pitch in where needed.
Detail-oriented, organized and capable of managing tasks on multiple, concurrent projects.
Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Proficiency with contact management, scheduling and social media software.
High degree of professionalism and discretion dealing with confidential information.
