Job Summary
The part-time Events Manager will manage and execute two signature fundraising events:
1) OUR HOUSE 5K: Walk & Remember, a 5K walk/run fundraiser, on April 27, 2025
2) House of Hope Gala, a gala fundraiser, on November 15, 2025
In addition to these two signature fundraising events, the Events Manager will work closely with the Board of Directors, Valley Advisory Board, and Associate Board to plan smaller events throughout the year. The combined gross revenue target for fundraising events is $1.3 million. The Events Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of event planning, stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and event execution to ensure events are successful and align with OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center’s mission and goals.
Roles & responsibilities
Essential Job Duties
· Create and manage event plans and timelines
· Develop and manage event budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring all costs stay within the budget
· Manage contract negotiation, execution process, and ongoing coordination with venues and vendors
· Manage revenue projections and coordinate sponsor and vendor benefits
· Coordinate event design and logistics with committees, including seating, talent coordination, auction, and signage
· Lead regular meetings with committee members
· Manage event set-up and teardown, and serve as the main point of contact during the events
· Coordinate event promotion, sponsor recognition, and event recap with the Development team
· Ensure compliance with all permits and regulations
· Support sponsorship and fundraising outreach
Qualifications
· Proven experience in nonprofit event planning and management
· Strong organizational and project management skills
· Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality
· Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising, sponsorship, auction, and appeal strategies
· Strong administrative skills and self-motivation, with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in an effective and efficient manner
· Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
· CRM experience with a preference for DonorPerfect, Qgiv, and Constant Contact
