About this job

The award-winning nonprofit Fountain Theatre, celebrating its 33rd year, is hiring a year-round grant writer. Seeking someone to assume the grant deadlines of existing funders (national, state, city, Foundations) and target new sources. Must have five years of grant writing experience in the nonprofit arts sector, preferably in theatre. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills, proficient in math, self-motivated, and passionate about the Fountain's mission. Must have a proven track record as a grant writer with established relationships with members of the foundation community. The grant writer will write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals and apply knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach income goals. Preferred applicants are deadline-driven team players with outstanding multitasking abilities .

Work Location: Hybrid remote/office in Los Angeles, CA 90029

Roles & responsibilities

Write, submit, and manage grant proposals.

Identify grant funding opportunities.

Assist with the execution of the development department’s strategy

Furnish prospective funders with supporting documents

Compile reports to the Board of Directors, as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in writing or related field.

5+ years of grant writing experience.

Proficient in reaching income goals.

Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel.

Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong people skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to meet deadlines.
