About this job

The Program Coordinator, Equity, Golden State Education Training and Grant Program (GSETGP) will serve as a member of the Foundation for California Community Colleges (Foundation) Equity department and will provide support to GSETGP project team. Through this project, the Foundation will promote the GSETGP and attract eligible applicants in their respective communities. The Program Coordinator will provide support for the implementation of a comprehensive strategic outreach plan with specific tactics and resources to reach eligible recipients, providers, and community partners. The tactics include a large peer-to-peer ambassador outreach program, administration of the distribution of grants to partners, development of outreach materials, and oversight of a social media campaign. Under the direction of the Project Manager, Equity (GSEGTP) and in line with the Foundation’s strategic plan, the Program Coordinator’s primary role is to provide support to the overall project and coordinate specific components of the GSETGP project.

Roles & responsibilities

• Promote smooth and efficient program development by collaborating cross-functionally across departments.

• Coordinate communication among associations, stakeholders, and team members to foster collaboration and connections between partners.

• Liaise directly with partners on the GSETGP project and other various state-wide programs or projects.

• Manage and maintain multiple databases to keep departmental data up to date.

• Seek out opportunities to improve departmental processes, programs, and projects.

• Process incoming and outgoing correspondence for the department and keep Management updated accordingly.

• Compile information for the timely preparation of reports and distributes to appropriate individuals within established timelines.

• Maintain accurate filing systems with the highest regard for confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail, ensuring that all deliverables and projects are accurate, professional, and up to date.

• Some working experience with calendaring and scheduling meetings and coordinating events.

• Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of a team.

• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships (internal and external to the team and organization).

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; experience proofreading.

• Willingness and ability to learn new software programs, protocols, and procedures.

• Self-directed with strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.

• Strong customer service skills and knowledge of business/office operations.

• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.

• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.

• Ability to solve practical problems and work independently.

• Demonstrated respect for and ability to work with diverse populations.

• Demonstrated experience handling multiple duties and prioritizing successfully.

• Passionate about providing students with stronger pathways to education and building a more just and equitable California overall.

• A strategic and creative thinker who can problem-solve, working within and across teams to swiftly respond to needs identified across the California Community Colleges.

• Practices ownership, takes accountability, and has the ability to project manage, prioritize tasks, and deliver quality products on time with limited supervision.

• Ability to work on a fast-paced team and build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
