About this job

Under the direction of the Manager, Project Services the Digital Content Specialist works collaboratively within the Technology team to develop content for a variety of websites, mobile apps, and web applications, including the development of various knowledge bases to support users of the FoundationCCC’s statewide and nationally used technology platforms.

Roles & responsibilities

• Plan, research, and produce content for a variety of websites, mobile apps, and web applications, including the development of various knowledge bases to support users.

• Steward client content projects through to successful completion; always keeping product owners and client needs as a focal point for success.

• Manage assigned content and digital projects or tasks from start to finish including marketing campaigns, email outreach campaigns, website development projects, and production of major publications.

• Help maintain technology tools and forms which bring efficiencies and automation to the Technology Team operations.

• Proactively identify opportunities to improve current technology product content and documentation.

• Source and analyze data, including website traffic, and analytics.

• Effectively communicate relevant project information to leadership.

• Maintain the currency, usability, brand continuity, and stylistic standards of the Foundation’s websites (internal and external), and partner with programs to update content and/or train others on the process for doing so; build new pages using HTML or one of the FoundationCCC’s Content Management Systems (Wordpress).

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring project artifacts are complete, current, and retained appropriately.

• Offer creative ideas and contribute to group brainstorming and critical thinking sessions.

• Participate in research activities, focus groups, user testing, to inform technology innovation and prototype development.

Qualifications

● Proven skills in researching and obtaining trustworthy information to inform writing, including through working with subject matter experts to gain deeper knowledge of program priorities or details, and translating these details into compelling content.

● A strategic and creative thinker who can problem-solve, working within and across teams to swiftly respond to needs identified across the California Community Colleges.

● Current knowledge of communications trends, and standards. Understanding of SEO, keyword research, and best practices in web content development is required.

● Excellent organization and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically to achieve goals.

● Practices ownership of workload and can balance high-level work with urgent requests and deadlines, with ability to respond to changing priorities effectively and efficiently.

● A self-starter and quick learner with a bias for action who is highly motivated and outcome-oriented, always seeking innovative approaches to project execution.

● A strategic and creative thinker who can problem-solve, working within and across teams to swiftly respond to needs identified across the California Community Colleges.

● Practices ownership, takes accountability, and has the ability to project manage, prioritize tasks, and deliver quality products on time with limited supervision.

● A sense of urgency and ability to work on a fast-paced team and build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

● Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, the California Community College and the Foundation’s mission to provide students with stronger pathways to education, and passion for building a more just and equitable California overall.
