EnrichLA is a rapidly growing, community wellness non-profit organization that brings edible school gardens to local public schools. We are looking for energetic, passionate, and knowledgeable individuals to join our fast-paced team as a part time Garden Ranger. The Garden Ranger is an educator and gardener at school sites throughout Los Angeles.

Our Garden Rangers hold four hour weekly morning garden classes at schools assigned. Student grade levels can range from T-K to middle school. Classes are held in an outdoor classroom attached to an edible garden. Gardens may also include fruit trees and native plant areas. Classes are conducted using the EnrichLA garden curriculum.

This is a part time independent contractor position usually in the morning hours. Perfect for parents, college students, or individuals looking for a part time job that is rewarding. Starting rate is $105 per half day slot (usually around 8am to 12pm but time-slot can slightly vary). We have schools throughout Los Angeles. Up to 3 mornings per week available.

Roles & responsibilities

Our Rangers are responsible in conducting fun and engaging lessons and activities related to natural sciences, healthy eating and caring for our Earth. Rangers also guide students in general care of the garden and maintain a healthy and bountiful organic garden through seed starting, composting, pruning, successive planting, and planting with seasons.


Degree and or work experience in relevant subject including but not limited to environmental education, Elementary education, horticulture, botany.

Experience working with groups of elementary to middle school age students.

Must pass live scan fingerprint background check and TB test.
