Our goals are to encourage physical ACTivity and demonstrate LEADership to strengthen the adaptive sports movement. Our initial programming focus is on Southern California, but our events and programming will draw athletes from all over the country.

The Development Manager, under the supervision of the Director, will be responsible for all aspects of Angel City Sports fundraising and development, including donor management, fundraising events, and digital and peer to peer fundraising campaigns. As a member of the Angel City Sports Team, the Development Manager will play a key role in transforming the lives of many people through the power of sports while also helping to lead the Paralympic Movement.

Roles & responsibilities

Donor Management – Manage all donor relationships, including processing and recording all gifts including grants, sponsorships and in-kind gifts made to the organization in a timely manner.

Events – Plan and execute special events including galas, fundraising campaigns, and community events. Manage all event logistics including vendor and partner communication. Collaborate with the Director & CEO to plan the overall financial goals of each event, as well as develop objectives related to measurable data points.

Campaigns – Design and implement fundraising campaigns throughout the year, including peer to peer campaigns related to major events including the Pasadena Triathlon, Games, Golf Tournament, and Courage Weekend. In addition, implement seasonal campaigns to attract new donors and supporters.

Sponsorships – Support Director and CEO in pitching, securing, and managing corporate sponsors. Periodically check in with Director and CEO to ensure tasks are up to date.

Grants – Support our grant-writing consulting firm in submitting and securing financial grants to support the operations and programming of Angel City Sports. Periodically check in with the grant-writing consulting firm to ensure tasks are up to date, and they are properly supported.

Budgeting – Maintain a budget and track financial records. Work with the Director & CEO to ensure the budget is adhered to and aligns with the goals of Angel City Sports.

Recruiting – Recruit and supervise volunteer teams. Delegate tasks and follow up with teams to ensure all tasks are completed properly and promptly.

Marketing – Assist with marketing / communication, including web, digital, social, email, and PR to promote event attendance/participation.

Relationships – Establish and maintain long lasting, professional relationships with stakeholders, donors, sponsors, and vendors. Foster relationships though periodic outreach and check ins as needed.

Processes – Develop processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity. Communicate processes and procedures to relevant parties.


Desired Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Marketing, Communications (or another related field).


Experience with donor and relationship management

Experience working with peer fundraising platforms and creating successful campaigns

Financial and statistical record-keeping techniques, accounting/bookkeeping

Experience planning special events and managing fundraising programs in the non-profit sector

Demonstrated project management skills and experience

Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Interest in sports and/or the disability community is valuable to the position, but not required

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This will be a hybrid position split between remote work & the Angel City Sports office located in Los Angeles, CA (Playa District).

Standard work office environment. Employees are expected to dress and behave appropriately in the workplace.

Coordination of event will require organizing, preparing, and transporting Angel City Sports equipment and materials.

Position will require working some nights and weekends to ensure job completion. The Development Manager must coordinate with the Director to approve any work outside of normal working hours.

Compensation and Application Information

Salary range is 48-63K, commensurate with experience. We will consider candidates with less experience to join as a Development Coordinator or more experience to join as a Development Director.
