We are seeking a visionary Director of Learning & Development to join our senior leadership team. Roles & responsibilities
Organizational Learning Strategy
Develop and lead an equity-centered learning strategy aligned with organizational values and goals
Collaborate with senior leaders to embed learning into the culture
Stay informed on sector trends to guide strategy and innovation
Training & Staff Development
Design engaging learning experiences using in-person, virtual, and on-the-job modalities
Facilitate interactive trainings for all levels, including executive coaching and management development
Evaluate training effectiveness through data and feedback
Onboarding & Talent Development
Redesign onboarding to foster early engagement and clarity
Create competency-based learning pathways for career development
Launch mentoring, coaching, and peer learning programs
Curriculum Design & Innovation
Develop culturally responsive, youth-centered curriculum aligned with expanded learning best practices
Use technology and design thinking for scalable, inclusive training content
Co-create new resources with internal and external partners
Evaluation, Quality & Impact
Establish systems to track learning KPIs and training outcomes
Provide reports to inform leadership decisions and funder updates
Champion a culture of continuous learning and reflection
Collaboration & Capacity Building
Align L&D initiatives with HR, DEI, and Program teams
Lead cross-functional projects to strengthen staff well-being and team cohesion
Build external partnerships to increase internal capacity
Qualifications
5+ years of leadership experience in learning & development, instructional design, or training
Strong background in nonprofit, education, youth development, or social justice sectors
Expertise in adult learning theory, training design, and performance measurement
Demonstrated ability to design inclusive, high-impact learning programs
Comfortable using digital training tools and platforms (e.g., LMS, video, design tools)
Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and managing complex projects
Preferred Skills and Attributes
Energetic, creative, and goal-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Able to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Typical office environment with frequent use of computer and phone
