Job Title: Senior Clinical Therapist (Licensed Bilingual Therapist - LCSW, LMFT, LPCC)

Department: Counseling

Reports to: Senior Director of Counseling

FLSA Status/Hours: Exempt - Full Time or Part-Time option available ($40-$50 per diem)

Classification: Essential-Onsite (One location, no travel required)

Direct Reports: may include Counseling Interns

Candidates who have provided mental health services in a residential setting or in a milieu environment would be ideal.

Roles & responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Counseling, the Senior Therapist will facilitate counseling sessions and activities for participating members and families and assist with clinical supervision of incoming counseling interns and/or BBS Registered Associates. The Sr. Therapist will collaborate with Case Managers and Member and Parent Services Coordinator to provide holistic or therapeutic support services to members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts mental health assessments and coordinate services for APCH members in the Counseling program

Provide therapeutic services to APCH members and family thru individual, family and group therapy

Assess and recognizes behaviors or changes in mood that indicates suicidal or homicidal intent or plan and creates safety plans when needed

Initiates appropriate and timely interventions that are culturally and linguistically sensitive and appropriate to the familys needs

Facilitate counseling program according to Board of Behavioral Services standards and regulations

Collaborate with department staff to plan and implement program activities

Work collaboratively with all APCH programs to facilitate psycho-educational support to members and training for staff members

Collaborate with the community to develop relationships and partnerships with other organizations

Refer and report per mandated requirements any issues of abuse and neglect according to the California law

Document member progress through case notes and Individual Program Plans (IPP)

Compile monthly case studies and reports

Supervise Counseling Interns and/or BBS registered associates on a weekly basis as directed by the Senior Director of Counseling

Qualifications

Education/Training/Experience

Degree: Masters degree in counseling or marriage and family therapy and social work

Knowledge of best practices in client-centered, trauma-informed care and family systems

4 years of experience in counseling youth and families in at-risk environment preferred

Experience working with juvenile justice involved youth or diversion programs

Registered under the Board of Behavioral Sciences

2 years post licensure

Completed clinical supervisor course: 15 units in alignment with supervision of MSW or MFT degrees.

Bilingual (Spanish/English)
