Recognizing the signs of trauma and responding in a way that does not retraumatize the individual. This awareness enables the program to create an environment that fosters healing and resilience.
Describe the project, program, or initiative this grant will support to address the issue.
Peer support and community engagement. We will provide peer mentoring, community empowerment, collaboration, youth-led decision making, choice and autonomy. This will provide the foundational trust and security needed for youth to engage with the program and build resilience. Create Healing Spaces, Trauma-Informed Staff and safety for Transitional aged youth 12-25 and our communities.

By incorporating the principals of Trauma Informed Care into the program design that we are developing, we create an environment where youth and their families who have experienced trauma can feel safe, supported, and empowered to develop resilience, equipping them with the tools to cope with their past experiences and build a more positive future.
