What is your understanding of the issue that you are seeking to address?
We are seeking to address the long-term effects of trauma, displacement, and instability experienced by children and families impacted by recent natural disasters and economic hardship. Many of these families have lost homes, schools, and access to consistent health and wellness resources. As a result, children often face emotional distress, social disconnection, and a lack of safe spaces for physical activity and growth. Our goal is to create a healing-centered environment where physical education, play, and faith-based support come together to promote restoration and resilience. By partnering with HPP Cares, we aim to offer structured, uplifting activities that build confidence, encourage teamwork, and provide families with tools for emotional and spiritual recovery. This project recognizes that healing is holistic and that rebuilding strong, connected communities begins with meeting both physical and emotional needs in safe, supportive spaces.
Describe the project, program, or initiative this grant will support to address the issue.
This grant will support a comprehensive community wellness initiative designed to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children and families affected by recent disasters and hardships. Through a partnership with HPP Cares, the program will provide structured physical education activities, including sports, games, and movement-based lessons that emphasize teamwork, resilience, and positive social interaction. These activities are intentionally designed to foster healing by creating safe spaces for children to rebuild confidence, develop healthy habits, and experience joy through play.
In addition to physical activity, the program integrates faith-based principles to support emotional and spiritual growth, using lessons and discussions inspired by Christian values such as hope, perseverance, and compassion. Caregivers and families will also be engaged through workshops and resource connections to ensure a supportive environment beyond the program itself.
The initiative will operate through local schools, community centers, and outreach events to maximize accessibility and participation. It will offer age-appropriate activities for children from kindergarten through middle school, promoting inclusivity and win-win scenarios where every participant experiences success and encouragement.
By addressing the whole person—this program aims to restore a sense of normalcy, connection, and hope, empowering families to rebuild stronger and more resilient lives after.

Schools and community centers will become vibrant hubs of healing and connection, where faith-based values and inclusive activities empower youth to develop confidence, teamwork, and a positive sense of belonging. This initiative will contribute to breaking cycles of isolation and stress by fostering networks of support and hope, helping families rebuild their lives with renewed strength and purpose.
