RabbiMusic Lessons

RabbiMusic Lessons provides affordable, high-impact music education to low-income families and aspiring young musicians who might not otherwise have access to private instruction. The program serves as a training ground and launching pad for students ages 10–19, blending technique, theory, and expression with mentorship, collaboration, and exposure to real-world opportunities. RabbiMusic connects students with colleges, ensembles, bands, and creative career pathways that align with their unique talents and stories.

What is your understanding of the issue that you are seeking to address?

RabbiMusic Lessons is designed with a clear understanding of the barriers facing underrepresented youth. To address limited access to tech and creative industry jobs, the program integrates hands-on training in digital production, engineering, and music business tools. To combat income inequality, it offers paid performance opportunities, mentorship, and career pathways that build generational earning power. To promote youth economic advancement, RabbiMusic provides students with digital portfolios, financial literacy, and post-program support in college admissions, internships, and gigs. Each lesson, showcase, and partnership is rooted in a vision of equity, purpose, and transformation.

Describe the project, program, or initiative this grant will support to address the issue.

RabbiMusic Lessons provides affordable, high-impact music education to low-income families and aspiring young musicians who might not otherwise have access to private instruction. The program serves as a training ground and launching pad for students ages 10–19, blending technique, theory, and expression with mentorship, collaboration, and exposure to real-world opportunities. RabbiMusic connects students with colleges, ensembles, bands, and creative career pathways that align with their unique talents and stories. The program starts with a single cohort of 12–15 students and scaling that model to 10 cohorts within five years. Each cohort would be led by trained instructors who embrace the RabbiMusic philosophy—rooted in purpose, expression, and community. Through structured curriculum, performance showcases, digital access to lessons, and local partnerships, RabbiMusic will become a scalable ecosystem where young musicians not only learn but transform.

Describe how Los Angeles County will be different if your work is successful.

RabbiMusic Lessons will shape LA County within the next year and beyond. RabbiMusic Lessons equips LA to be a hub of equitable creative opportunity by reducing racial and economic disparities in media and entertainment. Furthermore, this program becomes a national model for tech-infused music mentorship that is rooted in cultural identity and economic transformation through its network of youth-led ensembles. This ultimates contributes to LA's economic and artistic vibrancy.
