Important projects produced by NXT Art include, LUMINEX, which has brought over 25,000 people to experience this art and technology exhibition in downtown Los Angeles.  As a biennial exhibition, our next project 2026 will be its 4th exhibition year, and will be featured in multiple locations throughout Los Angeles.  For 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 more than 11 multidisciplinary artists installations were exhibited in an immersive self-guided experience. The aim of LUMINEX is to showcase museum-quality artistic expression based on mediums and technology such as video art, performance, augmented reality, projection, light sculpture and sound in an outdoor landscape. Professional artists are curated to create site-specific works at selected locations in an urban landscape that includes alleyways, empty warehouses, facades of large-scale buildings, parking lots, groundscape and more. Diversity & inclusion, application of digital art medium, sound and interaction, architecture and messaging are all core components of the artist selection. Free to the public, LUMINEX is a great example of why cultural access is vital to sustaining healthy communities and international prestige.
Important projects include: The Community Mural Program, Transportapueblos, Straws, Triforium, LUMINEX, War of the Worlds, La Plaza Village, & Prox.im.ity.

Describe how Los Angeles County will be different if your work is successful.

Arts and Culture is a sector often neglected in general budgets and community planning. The current lack of site-specific public art in Los Angeles propelled NOW Art to take the lead on producing and implementing large art projects and exhibitions, that are either public-facing or directly in the public right of way, often in several city blocks, bringing art accessibility to people who might not feel comfortable crossing the barriers of museums and galleries.
We ensure our organization addresses many urgent and relevant issues, including immigration and social justice, justice reform for Black communities, women's rights, equity, environmental awareness, technological innovation, and community unity. These initiatives have reached millions through digital impressions and have been experienced in person by hundreds of thousands.
