What is your understanding of the issue that you are seeking to address?

Community safety encompasses various aspects of public well-being. For example, when people are outdoors, they should feel safe crossing the street and be free from violence and other harms. Families should feel safe using the green spaces, walking at night time when the streets are well lit.
Safe neighborhoods encourage physical activities and social interactions, promoting better health.
When the families have a home, a place to live, and a job, where they can have an income, they feel emotional well-being, which also reduces stress and anxiety, and they are less likely to worry about affording essentials like food and paying their bills.
Financial stability can lead to reduced conflicts within families, as money worries are less likely to be a source of tension, which can improve relationships and overall family harmony.
These mental health issues, such as stress and anxiety, depression, confidence, and self-esteem, will be reduced in the communities that we give the resources to.

Describe the project, program, or initiative this grant will support to address the issue.

As I mentioned, the community member should feel safe using the green spaces. Having the park busy with active families, the vandalism and illegal activities that make people feel unsafe will eventually decrease. I will use the funds to keep the existing programs at the local park that United We Stand has, like Zumba, folkloric, and the 311 campaign. These programs are free to the community. Zumba helps the participants to release stress, burn calories, improve cardiovascular fitness and endurance, muscle tone, and flexibility, offering a variety of physical and mental benefits. Folklore dance connects with the traditions and cultural heritage, allowing socializing and connecting with others, reducing stress and improving memory, concentration, cognitive function, and overall well-being. The UWS 311 campaign is intended to educate the community members to encourage them to use the application to submit non-emergency reports of the issues that the communities are facing. We have presentations and workshops for the community members to learn and practice submitting reports.
For income inequality, I will use the funds to promote education and skills development.Investing in education, particularly in elementary and middle school, can help to increase the earning potential of individuals and reduce inequality.
The high school students will be the internship students who will benefit from the pilot program that will help them earn income while they are still in school.

Describe how Los Angeles County will be different if your work is successful.

The programs will build stronger connections with community members and foster a positive environment, and reduce chronic diseases like diabetes and coronary disease. The 311 campaign will improve the neighborhoods and connect the residents to city services that improve the quality of life that making them feel safer in their communities. Making Los Angeles a beautiful and stronger city by empowering the residents to actively agents in shaping the city, fostering a stronger, more engaged community, and contributing participation into a more beautiful and livable Los Angeles, improving the neighborhoods, and connecting the residents and encouraging them to keep practicing and sharing the opportunity to others.
The income inequality program pilot benefits the participants by gaining valuable work experience and training, developing job skills, and receiving financial benefits to help to pay for their expenses, helping parents to release economic stress.
