What is your understanding of the issue that you are seeking to address?
AORP understands that community crime and violence stem from deeply rooted socioeconomic, psychological, and systemic factors that disproportionately impact vulnerable populations. Incarceration, often a cyclical consequence of these challenges, fails to address the underlying causes of criminal behavior, leaving many individuals struggling with trauma, limited opportunities, and social isolation. Recognizing this, AORP envisions a transformative approach that prioritizes education, mentorship, and lived experience as powerful tools for rehabilitation and prevention.Through an evidence-based curriculum, AORP integrates mental health support, skill-building, and narratives from individuals who have overcome gang involvement or incarceration. This approach fosters empathy, resilience, and informed decision-making, empowering youth and formerly incarcerated individuals to break free from destructive cycles. By leveraging lived experience, AORP creates a community
