Uplifting Youth Voices in LA: 2025 LA2050 Youth Ambassador Report

Posted

The LA2050 Youth Ambassador Program began in 2022. Since then, it has engaged more than 700 young people from across Los Angeles County, representing more than 200 unique ZIP codes. Participants have engaged more than 14,500 residents during the annual LA2050 Grants Challenge voting period.

In 2025, the Youth Ambassador Program expanded for the first time to include a General Cohort as well as a Leadership Cohort, the latter of which came with increased responsibilities and a stipend. Marion Noble, a Youth Ambassador in 2024, joined the Goldhirsh Foundation staff to help guide the changes.

At the culmination of her Social Impact and Research Fellowship, Marion wrote, "Uplifting Youth Voices in LA – 2025 LA2050 Youth Ambassador Program Report.” The work walks through the Youth Ambassador Program’s scope, structure, changes, and impact. It also shares four key lessons learned:

  1. Young people are crucial connectors to community perspectives
  2. Youth programs can be impactful, without being resource-intensive
  3. Youth perspectives strengthen funding decisions
  4. Young people are eager for deeper, sustained engagement
