Los Angeles Wildfires: Volunteer & Support Guide
PostedIn the face of the wildfires impacting our community, there are many ways to help those in need.
This guide highlights volunteer opportunities, donation drives, and other ways to provide support during this challenging time pulled from our community allies. From assisting at evacuation centers to contributing essential supplies or funds, every action helps make a difference. Explore how you can join efforts to aid recovery and show solidarity with those affected.

- Donate to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation Emergency Fund or text "LAFD" to 24365.

- Altadena Teen Boys Fire Recovery - Looking for personal items, grooming items, hair care, clothing, accessories, and electronics. Check it's Instagram for the most updated items that are needed.
- Covenant House – Looking for flashlights, bottled water, and sandwiches
- Flintridge Center – Looking for shelf-stable and nonperishable food items and hygiene items.
- Connecting Compton – Looking for water, non-perishable food, hygiene supplies, and feed for horses and other animals. Contact: Hector Gomez, Executive Director (562) 565-3339 or Daniel Zepeda, Treasurer and Co-Founder (310) 972-9189.
- Union Station Homeless Services – Looking for bottled water, N95 masks, non-perishable food items, non-perishable toiletries, meals, baby formula and food, disposable utensils, plates, and cups
- Social Justice Learning Institute – Looking for physical, non perishable and water donations at its office at 600 Centinela Ave, Inglewood, CA 90302 by appointment which can be set up by contacting nsteele@sjli.org.
- Every Day Action - Looking for computers, laptops, and other tech for 10 individual families impacted. Email mail@youreverydayaction.org for more details.
- Pasadena Village - Looking for donations of air purifiers. Email katie@pasadenavillage.org or send to the Village Office at 236 W Mountain St, #104, Pasadena, CA 91103.
- PATH – Looking for household cleaning supplies, hygiene items, new and unused pillows, and new and unused blankets or donations via its Amazon wish list.
- LA Dream Center – Donation needs are updated daily on LA Dream Center's Instagram
- DWC – Looking for N95 masks, backpacks, dufflebags, body wash or soap, new underwear, new bras, new or gently worn clothing.
- Thai CDC – Looking for donations such as water, coffee, granola bars, fresh produce, and any other materials or ingredients that can be contributed. Contact Vendor.atsiam@gmail.com to support these efforts.
- Ktown For All – Looking for KN95 masks, tarps, tents, and donations
- LA Mission – Currently looking for water, blankets, towels, and snacks. Check it's Instagram for the most updated list of needs.
- Shop Quirk LA – Looking for clothing, shoes, and accessories
- BreastfeedLA – Looking for unused/new lactation supplies, diapers, wipes, new car seats, menstrual products.
- No Res Gourmet – Accepting ready-made meals from licensed vendors, restaurants, and caterers only.
- Misc. roundup countywide – Multiple opportunities to donate a variety of items
- InstaCart - Donate to LA-based organizations currently need through InstaCart's LA Fire Relief page.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Streets Are For Everyone - Work with Let's Clean LA, a volunteer-driven initiative to help restore areas affected by the wildfires and windstorms
- She Ready Foundation - Help the She Ready Foundation distribute critical resources for those affected by the fires
- Habitat for Humanity Greater Los Angeles - While first responders address immediate needs, we are preparing for the work ahead to provide lasting solutions for affected families. If you are interested in joining us, please add your name to our list.
- World Central Kitchen - Before committing to volunteer, you must create a profile on Volunteer Hub using the button below. Once you are a member of the WCK Volunteer Corps, you will be able to view and sign up for any available volunteer opportunities.
- YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles - Volunteers can assist at 19 YMCA locations across the county with various tasks such as handing out meals and fresh produce, donating emergency supplies, helping to organize donations, and more!
- Project Angel Food – Project Angel Food will need volunteers in the coming weeks to fill delivery routes and kitchen shifts. Email volunteers@angelfood.org to help out.
- Pasadena Community Job Center – If you want to support, call the center to find out what is needed at (626) 440-0112. Current volunteer opportunities can be found on its Instagram.
- Dream Center - Join a team of staff who serve almost 50,000 people per month through various programs and services like food relief, kids programs, beautification projects, and more.
- Hollywood Food Coalition - Prepare and serve meals to people experiencing homelessness or receive and distribute food to non-profits affected by fires.
- Thai CDC - Extra hands are needed to assist in efforts to provide hot meals and care packages to first responders and displaced families. Contact Vendor.atsiam@gmail.com to support these efforts.
- The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank – Accepting volunteers to help distribute meals
- LA Animal Services – Help foster or adopt dogs that have been displaced from the fires
- Los Angeles Regional Fire Safe Council – Join the volunteer program to become a public safety leader
- Red Cross – Sign up to volunteer with Red Cross’ disaster action team volunteers offer help and hope to disaster victims
- Union Rescue Mission - Help in kitchen; Saturday and Sunday. Various shifts: 5:30 AM - 8PM 14+ Register in the Volunteer Portal or email volunteer@urm.org
- California Volunteers Office of the Governor - Sign up for ongoing volunteer opportunities.
- California Volunteers Office of the Governor - Reach out to elderly and high-risk neighbors to see if they need help with evacuation, groceries or other necessities.
- LA County - The County needs your help to serve the most vulnerable and at-risk groups!
- Los Angeles Regional Fire Safe Council - Join the volunteer program to become a public safety leader.
- Canine Rescue Club – Looking for temporary foster care for dogs displaced by the fires
- COOP - Need volunteers clothing and supplies, and make dropoffs.
- Skid Row For the People LA - Give out essentials including food, water, clothing, hygiene products and more. Call Evie at (214) 784-9547 for more information.
- Bricks and Wood - The South-Central-born streetwear brand is seeking help with organizing donations at their Space(s) store.
- Christy's Foundation - Need volunteers to come and help distribute groceries, food on the go and essentials to families. Monday 1/13 through Thursday 1/16 between 10am-2pm. Location is on the first floor in the Northridge Mall.
- Neighbors and Friends - The location is seeking volunteers for a number of roles — but primarily to organize clothes and help wash dishes.
- Westside Food Bank - Need volunteers to help sort and distribute food.
- Best Friends Animal Society - Looking for volunteers to help foster animals. For more information, contact Best Friends at FosterLA@bestfriends.org.
- "My Safe LA" - My Safe LA wants Angelenos to be ready when wildfires, mudslides or earthquakes strike. Our volunteers make our mission possible. They’re making their own communities, and all of Los Angeles, safer.
- Stoney Clover Lane - Stoney Clover Lane is partnering with Babylist and Meena Harris to distribute donated items within Los Angeles over the next several weeks.
- LAIT911 - Join LAIT911's disaster response and recovery team, including collecting donations and assisting with delivery.
- No Res Gourmet - Help cook, package, and distribute meals.
- Clergy Community Coalition and the Faith Collaborative to End Homelessness - Coordinating volunteers and relief efforts across Altadena/Pasadena faith communities and partners.
- National Day Laborer Organizing Network - Volunteer to help improve the lives of day laborers, migrants and low-wage workers affected by the fires.
- Unique Markets - Volunteer to lead gatherings/events/classes throughout the year, or provide your professional services to fire victims for free
- Airbnb's Open Homes Program - Sign up to list your space at a discounted rate for people in times of crisis.
