Thank you to everyone who participated in our Giving Tuesday Match a few weeks ago.

This is our fifth year offering a match – and, as always, the LA2050 community showed up to support local nonprofits. We are ecstatic to share that, together, we raised more than $24,000!

Some fast facts from our 2023 Giving Tuesday Match:

• $14,000+ donated
• 138 individual donors contributed
• 153 total donations made
• 48 organizations received donations
• 18 organizations with two or more donations
• $10,000 match from the Goldhirsh Foundation
  

Your donations make a real impact! Check out these notes of appreciation from the leaders of two organizations that benefited from this year’s match.

First, Erika Hartman, chief executive officer of Safe Place for Youth, the group that raised the most in this year's match:

"We are incredibly grateful to the community who supported us on Giving Tuesday. Your generosity makes it possible for us to continue to ensure that young people experiencing homelessness receive the resources they need to thrive. Thank you for helping us meet our mission; together we are ending youth homelessness."

Next, Korinna Domingo, founder and director of Cougar Conservancy, the organization that received the highest number of individual donations:

Since we began our Giving Tuesday Match program in 2019, we have officially raised more than $140,000 via our LA2050 Ideas Hub!

The LA2050 Ideas Hub is a searchable database of great organizations and bright ideas from all of the LA2050 Grants Challenges. The Ideas Hub includes more than 2,000 social impact organizations based in Los Angeles, working on issues from housing and homelessness to domestic violence, environmental protection, and STEAM education. While the Ideas Hub gets the most love during our Giving Tuesday Match, it is available all year long. That means you can donate to your favorite organizations, or discover new ones, at any time.
