PostedAs the holidays approach, the spirit of generosity is in the air, and there’s no better time to give back to your community!
Whether you’re interested in supporting youth, the environment, housing and food access, or the arts, there’s something for everyone in our 2025 Volunteer Guide.
This list includes in-person, remote, and seasonal options from our LA2050 grantees, partners, and other social impact organizations. The information below comes from their respective websites, and is subject to change.

November volunteer opportunities:

🤎Los Angeles Regional Food Bank: Food Sorters Needed | Nov. 18th, 1 pm
Lend a hand to fight hunger in LA County! Volunteers (ages 18+) are needed at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to sort and pack produce for more than 29,000 families, older adults, and children facing food insecurity.
🌟PLUS ME Reader Virtual Orientation | Nov. 19th, 6 pm
PLUS ME Project invites volunteers to share the power of storytelling by serving as +ME Readers, who help review and score student essays for the My Story Matters Scholarship. Volunteers join a short virtual training, and then read essays from Nov. 26th - Dec. 12th.
🤎Foothill Unity Center: Warehouse & Food Distribution Volunteers | Nov. 20th, 8:30 am
Support local families and fire survivors by helping with food distribution and meal service at Foothill Unity’s Monrovia Campus. Volunteers are needed to sort food, serve meals, and prepare delicious dishes for the community.
🤎A Sense of Home: Home Creation Shifts | Nov. 20th, 10 am
Help wildfire survivors rebuild their lives. In a 2.5-hour shift, volunteers (ages 12+) stage, assemble, and deliver furniture and home goods, bringing comfort, dignity, and hope to families starting anew in Los Angeles County.
🌟Adventures to Dreams Enrichment: Food Giveaway | Nov. 21st, 9:30 am
Join Adventures to Dreams Enrichment for its monthly Food Giveaway in Long Beach, serving more than 700 families and individuals facing food insecurity. Volunteers (18+) can help with food packing or distribution. The event takes place outdoors and closed-toe shoes are required.

Help wildfire survivors rebuild their lives. In a 2.5-hour shift, volunteers (ages 12+) stage, assemble, and deliver furniture and home goods, bringing comfort, dignity, and hope to families starting anew in Los Angeles County.
🌟Friends of the Los Angeles River: Habitat Restoration Day | Nov. 22nd, 8 am
Join FoLAR and the California Native Plant Society to volunteer to remove invasive mustard and learn about its impact on the ecosystem and why its removal is vital to restoring California’s native habitat.
🤎Project Angel Food: Meal Prep & Community Support | Nov. 22nd, 8 am
From preparing and delivering meals to making calls, assembling mailers, or crafting bracelets, every hour helps nourish and uplift our most vulnerable neighbors. Volunteers can join individually or with family, friends, or colleagues.

🤎TreePeople: South LA Eco-Lab Street Tree Community Planting | Nov. 22nd, 8:15 am
Join the movement to plant 4,000 trees in the South LA Eco-Lab project area. Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to help plant new trees and learn about TreePeople’s efforts to grow the urban canopy in South and Southeast Los Angeles.
🌟Altadena Community Garden Remediation Volunteer Day | Nov. 22nd, 9 am
Help maintain this two-and-a-half-acre community space that supports more than 80 garden plots. Volunteers assist with upkeep, restoration, and beautification efforts that keep the garden thriving for members and the wider Altadena community.
🌟Defy SoCal HealthRIGHT 360 Community Business Coaching Day | Nov. 22nd, 1 pm
Support formerly incarcerated Entrepreneurs in Training through Defy Ventures’ program. Volunteers work one-on-one to refine resumes and business ideas, building confidence, and foster human connection.
🤎Helping Hands in the Wild w/ Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy | Nov. 23rd, 9 am
Join the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy for a hands-on Outdoor Volunteer Day at White Point Nature Preserve! Help care for native plants, restore wildlife habitats, and keep the coastal preserve thriving.
🤎LA Family Housing: Serve Thanksgiving Meals | Nov. 24th, 12 pm
Help serve food to brighten the holiday season for neighbors experiencing homelessness. Volunteers must: be 18+ years old, complete a Volunteer Seminar & Training which will be in your confirmation email after expressing interest, and wear closed-toed shoes.

Each year, the Annual Thanksgiving Feast brings together youth, families, volunteers, and community members for a day filled with warmth, gratitude, and togetherness. Volunteers will help with: meal prep, serving, clean-up, and crowd support.

Bring your food scraps to the Elysian Valley Community Garden to help turn waste into nutrient-rich compost that supports local gardens and green spaces across LA.

Help nourish and connect the community at the Downtown Women’s Center, where more than 260,000 meals are served each year to women and gender-diverse individuals. Kitchen volunteers assist with meal prep, organization, and service.
🤎Los Angeles Regional Food Bank: Assemble Food Packages for Families | Dec. 4th, 9 am
Make a difference in the City of Industry! Help assemble food packages, produce bags, and assorted goods for more than one million families experiencing food insecurity across LA. Volunteers (ages 18+) will work on-site at the Food Bank’s warehouse, lifting 10–25 lbs., sorting, and packing essential items.
🤎TreePeople: West Valley Tree Planting | Dec. 6th, 8:45 am
Join TreePeople and kick-off the West Valley Greening Project. Volunteers will be planting 15 gallon, 6ft tall trees. Be prepared to get your hands dirty, break a sweat, and have fun!
🤎Cabrillo Beach Cleanup | Dec. 6th, 9 am
Join CMA Educators and volunteers in a beach cleanup, clearing the shore of marine debris. Meet at the steps in front of the auditorium. This opportunity is open to all ages.

🌟North East Trees: Nursery Monthly Action Day | Dec. 6th, 9 am
Get your hands dirty and have fun at North East Tree’s Nursery Monthly Action Day! Volunteers will learn about native plant care, propagation, and transplanting.
🌟North East Trees: Seedy Sunday | Dec. 7th, 9 am
In partnership with Artemisia Nursery, volunteers will learn about California native plants, wildflower seeds, and plant cuttings.

🌟Virtual Defy Entrepreneurship Bootcamp Business Pitch Competition & Graduation | Dec. 15th, 6 pm
Volunteer judges support formerly incarcerated Entrepreneurs in Training as they deliver Shark Tank style pitches by offering feedback, asking questions, and celebrating their graduation.
🤎Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club Holiday Toy Give-Away | Dec. 16th, 2 pm
Help create a joyful and meaningful holiday experience for children and families in the Lincoln Heights community. Volunteer duties will include: decorating and setting up winter wonderland spaces, gift distribution and helping with our toy giveaway, and clean-up crew.

Make a difference in the City of Industry! Help assemble food packages, produce bags, and assorted goods for more than one million families experiencing food insecurity across LA.
