Senator Anthony J. Portantino joined us at our LA2050 Grantee Showcase as a speaker and guest. The Showcase is part of the annual LA2050 Grants Challenge.

During his inspiring remarks, Senator Anthony J. Portantino surprised the Goldhirsh Foundation with a Certificate of Recognition for holding the annual LA2050 Grants Challenge. The Senator presented the honor to Goldhirsh Foundation President Tara Roth.

The State of California Senate Certificate of Recognition reads:

“In recognition of your LA2050 Grants Challenge on behalf of the California State Senate, I join the Los Angeles community in thanking you for your outstanding efforts to help foster innovation. Your work to promote forward thinkers focused on solving the problems facing Los Angeles is truly commendable. I thank you for your commitment to collaboration and progress. Additionally, 22 social impact organizations – from this year’s grantee LA2050 Grants Challenge cohort of 42 groups – are headquartered in and/or will be serving the 25th CA State Senate District. Senator Portantino brought congratulatory certificates to honor each of the grantee organizations.
