We are thrilled to share the results of this year’s LA2050 Grants Challenge.
From March 12th to April 18th, Angelenos were invited to vote on the issues they care about most – helping determine which would be eligible for grant funding. We received almost 140,000 votes from more than 21,000 participants, representing 96 percent of residential ZIP codes in Los Angeles County and engaging in 12 different languages.
Here are the 10 issues that Los Angeles selected as their top priorities:
PLAY
Green Space, Park Access, and Trees
Community Safety
LIVE
Affordable Housing and Homelessness
Health Care Access
LEARN
Support for Foster and Systems-Impacted Youth
K-12 STEAM Education
CREATE
Income Inequality
Access to the Tech and Creative Industries
CONNECT
Public Transit
Immigrant and Refugee Support
That’s not all! Our Funding Partners are generously sponsoring additional issue areas.
+ SPONSORED ISSUES!
Youth Economic Advancement – Sponsored by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and R & S Kayne Foundation!
Wildfire Relief – Sponsored by the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation
Together, we are granting an anticipated $3 million to organizations across Los Angeles County, with individual awards of up to $75,000. Last year, 68 organizations received funding to bring their ideas for a better LA to life.
If you represent a nonprofit, social enterprise, or government agency and you have an idea for how to make an impact on one or more of the issue areas, we invite you to register for a virtual Information Session.
