2023 LA2050 Grants Challenge Launch Celebration at Las Fotos Project Brings Together Friends, Partners, and Grantees

Posted

We had a blast launching this year's LA2050 Grants Challenge on April 6th, at Las Fotos Project in Boyle Heights! We connected with so many of our friends, partners, and grantees to celebrate 10 years of this movement; our work to make Los Angeles a better place would not be possible without such a vibrant and inspiring community.

During the launch event, guests voted in this year’s LA2050 Grants Challenge using our brand-new voting booths. If you haven’t voted yet, then you’re invited to use these booths at upcoming pop-up locations across Los Angeles County, such as at the Theodore Payne Foundation, Mariachi Plaza, and Santa Monica Pier. (Voting also continues online, now through May 8.)

Partygoers also watched the premiere of the new short film highlighting some of our LA2050 heroes from the past decade. The film features Dominique and Ilka Perkins of People’s Pottery Project, Rudy Espinoza of Inclusive Action for the City, Jamiah Hargins of Crop Swap LA, and Goldhirsh Foundation and LA2050 president, Tara Roth.

Thank you to past grantee Las Fotos Project for hosting us, past grantee Flavors from Afar for providing delicious bites, and to our ally dublab for the overall good vibes from DJ Emma Hirail!
