Introducing Our LA2050 Listens Hosts!
PostedWe are pleased to announce that the following organizations have been selected to host LA2050 Listens events:
- Cerritos College Foundation
- Color the Water
- Community Coalition (CoCo)
- Junior High Inc.
- L.A. TACO
- LA Más
- People's Yoga
- The Natural History Museums of LA County
- Union de Vecinos
- Zócalo Public Square
These ten organizations will host virtual and in-person events to engage their communities in voting for the issues that matter most to them in the 2022 LA2050 Grants Challenge. We were impressed with all of their creative ideas – from Junior High Inc.'s advocate town hall, Community Coalition's teach-in series commemorating the 1992 Civil Unrest, and Cerritos College Foundation's “Cafecito y Comunidad," to Color the Water's beach bonfires, LA Más's activation at its food distribution events, People's Yoga's themed movement sessions, to so much more! We'll be posting all the dates and details to this blog and our social media channels during the weeks ahead.
A special thank you to all of the organizations that applied for LA2050 Listens. We received 65 remarkable applications for the ten total events. We invite and hope all of the organizations to participate in the online voting, and to continue to have important public conversations about issues, and working together towards a better shared future.
Speaking of which – here's an important update:
Voting in the 2022 LA2050 Grants Challenge will be available to the public online from April 18th to May 6th, 2022. After voting concludes, we'll announce the results and open up grant applications to organizations that are working to address the top-voted issues. A total of $1 million in grant funding will be awarded.
