We are seeking a Park Maintenance Associate to join our dedicated team. This position will perform and support a variety of maintenance and improvement tasks to park grounds, facilities, and structures.

Roles & responsibilities

- Perform routine park grounds maintenance and improvements on a daily basis, including watering, sweeping, raking, mulching, weeding, pruning, planting, and clean up of trails and parking lot.

- Ensure restrooms are stocked with supplies and clean.

- Assist with the maintenance and installation of park equipment, including picnic tables, benches, and light fixtures.

- Support setup, breakdown and cleaning of facilities for meetings and events.

- Perform routine grounds and building inspections to identify needed repairs and recommended improvements.

- Complete repairs and improvements to grounds and facilities, including handyperson-level work on electrical systems, plumbing systems, irrigation systems, HVAC systems, appliances, structural repairs, painting, masonry and carpentry.

- Assess and assist work of outside contractors that provide grounds and facilities repairs and improvements on an as needed basis.

- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- 2+ years of grounds and facilities maintenance.

- Ability to work with minimum supervision.

- Multi-tasker and fast learner.

- Ability to interact with the public and volunteers.

- Basic hand and power tool knowledge and recent tool operation experience.

- Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions on a daily basis.

- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

- Able to walk, stand, stoop for long periods of time.

- Possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.

- Familiarity and comfort with basic construction/carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and landscaping work.

- Flexible to work occasionally on the weekends or in the evenings as needed.
