Staff Analyst – Job Description
Hourly Rate: $45.42
Fully Paid Medical/Dental Insurance
Contract position through October 31, 2025
The following provides a general description of duties and a more specific description of requirements for the Staff Analyst. Please note that the summary of responsibilities and required abilities identified below are not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements.
Roles & responsibilities
The duties of the Staff Analyst include, but are not limited to, the following:
Coordinate with colleagues in the SAPC Harm Reduction Branch on program planning and project management, technical assistance, connecting harm reduction programs to capacity building resources, development and submission of requests for funding, harm reduction syringe services certification process, develop scopes of work, organize invoicing/payment policies and procedures.
Coordinate with relevant LA County departments to facilitate contract development, execution, and modifications; payment of invoices; and development and submission of funding proposals.
Coordinate, facilitate and/or participate in meetings with SAPC and relevant internal and community program partners.
Prepare and execute a communications and information dissemination plan including developing and publishing information sheets, newsletters, regular meetings with designated people and organizations for discussion and information dissemination.
Foster relationships and collaborations between the Harm Reduction Branch and a variety of stakeholders to facilitate an equitable expansion of harm reduction and overdose prevention services in LA County.
Streamline and coordinate data collection and analytics with SAPC HODA, other DPH stakeholders, other LA County partners, contracted agencies, and certified harm reduction syringe services programs. Prepare analyses as needed for conference abstracts, presentations, and reports.
Coordinate with departmental, community, and/or academic partners to facilitate funding applications and funded research focused on novel approaches to overdose prevention and harm reduction strategies for people who use drugs.
Participate in assigned trainings, webinars, and conferences about harm reduction and overdose prevention approaches and initiatives
Completes other duties and performance expectations as needed in accordance with class specifications or County Work Plan
