Wurwand Foundation is a private, family foundation created by Jane and Raymond Wurwand,

Founders of Dermalogica and the International Dermal Institute. Wurwand Foundation operates

FOUND/LA, an initiative that supports local entrepreneurs to help them build their business,

purpose, and community. FOUND/LA connects business owners - particularly women,

immigrants, and minorities - with resources to help them succeed. That includes funding,

educational tools, incubator style workshops, unique mentorship opportunities, and most

importantly, a community of other local entrepreneurs.

About this job

Wurwand Foundation is seeking a motivated Social Media Editor to support our FOUND/LA

initiative by developing written and visual content to share across FOUND/LA’s social media

channels. In this role you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our brand’s social

media presence, and building a strong, engaged community of followers who support

entrepreneurship in Los Angeles.

Roles & responsibilities

● Manage all social media platforms for FOUND/LA, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter

and LinkedIn using consistent brand design, tone, and voice;

● Increase social media presence, followers and engagement on social networks;

● Create and manage content calendar for all communication initiatives and campaigns;

● Collaborate with Foundation Director on strategy, planning, and execution of all content

sharing;

● Draft marketing email series as needed;

● Translate quantitative and qualitative data to support actionable social media

engagement plans for continuous improvement;

● Design graphics for campaigns using Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, etc.;

● Provide coverage of special events with Wurwand Foundation partners and grantees via

social media.

Qualifications

● Must have proven track record of increasing brand audience and engagement;

● Knowledge of social media analytics and scheduling tools;

● 2+ years experience working in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field;

● Outgoing and friendly with strong communication skills (both written and verbal);

● Has driver's license and access to a vehicle;

● Lives in greater Los Angeles area;

● Ability to create engaging content and captions aligned with FOUND/LA brand voice;

● Experience with photography/videography;

● In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (e.g. Facebook,

Twitter, Instagram, etc.), their respective audiences, and how each platform can be

deployed in different scenarios;

● The ability to keep up with industry trends.
