TreePeople is an environmental nonprofit organization that mobilizes individuals, families, communities, philanthropists, and public agencies to work together to create green, resilient communities by providing education on the benefits of planting trees, capturing the rainwater, greening schools, and providing fun environmental educational activities. TreePeople unites with communities to grow a greener, shadier and more water-secure region at homes, neighborhoods, schools and in the local mountains.

We are seeking a Stewardship & Donor Relations Assistant who will play a key role in supporting the Chief Development Officer and various development programs, such as our Tree Dedication program, planned giving outreach and stewardship, direct mail and digital fundraising.

Job Duties:

  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Development Officer (approximately 30% time) to include calendar management and scheduling, priority workflow management, expenses, and related duties.
  • Manage our popular Tree Dedication program (donor inquiries, dedication management).
  • Work closely with the Major Gift Manager to execute donor recognition plans, coordinate giving society benefits and planned giving circle plans.
  • Assist with the planning of donor receptions, donor hikes, annual fundraiser, and other development events to engage donors and prospects.
  • Coordinate department staff meetings, workshops and retreats, and coordinate Development Committee meetings.
  • Work on special projects as needed and assigned by the Chief Development Officer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of related experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Google Suite as well as internet-based communications and research tools.
  • General computer skills that aid in the learning of new software tools, such as the fundraising database Raiser’s Edge
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of project management and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously, meet varying deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Must be dedicated to the mission of TreePeople.
