The Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law seeks a knowledgeable, experienced and dedicated individual to provide leadership, oversight, and labor for its core operations including personnel and fiscal management and policies, utilization of technology, and general administration. The Director joins a team of individuals dedicated to the cause of social justice for low-income members of our community, particularly victims of domestic violence.

Our Mission: We protect victims of domestic violence and improve the well-being of children living in poverty. With the help of volunteers, the Center provides free family law assistance and legal education to the poor. We strive to empower people in need and assure them meaningful access to the courts.

Key Features of this Job:

  • Effective oversight of accounting, auditing, budgeting, and other fiscal functions whether performed by Center staff and/or outsourced;
  • Responsible for contract and grant management including submission of accurate and timely reports;
  • Hiring, professional development, evaluation and provision of benefit packages for employees, and facility and equipment lease, purchase and maintenance.
  • Manage IT services to ensure that the technological needs of staff, volunteers, and clients are met.
  • Act as the general manager ensuring that the Center’s business affairs are supported and that the organization and its employees flourish.

Essential Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years in nonprofit senior administrative or management position;
  • Significant prior experience in data management and analysis;
  • BA / BS in accounting, business administration, human resources, or related fields;
  • Minimum three years of experience directly supervising personnel;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse groups;
  • Excellent organizational abilities;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others.

Start Date: ASAP
Position: Full-time, exempt.
Salary and Benefits: Salary: Commensurate with experience.
