The Archer School for Girls is currently seeking a full-time Health Coordinator to start immediately. The Health Coordinator will manage the school health office to support the health and well-being of approximately 500 students in grades 6 – 12. The Health Coordinator will work with the Health and Safety Committee to manage pandemic-related processes and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the school health office

  • Maintain an appropriate and efficient space
  • Maintain student health office documentation in Blackbaud “nurses office”
  • Triage each visit to the Health Office to address basic needs and those that need more attention
  • Communication and coordination with Families and internally with Faculty, Dean of Students, Counselor, Staff and Senior Administration
  • Manage Student immunization records; annual process to collect immunization records from Families, review and follow up to ensure requirements are met, completion of the student state card and annual compliance report
  • Manage student health records and emergency contacts; annual online process to collect information, review for any high-risk situations and required medications
  • Manage student medications; collect/return medications at the start/end of the school year, store and administer
  • Provide emergency forms and student medications for field trips and summer program
  • Coordinate response to outbreaks such as head-lice or measles
  • Maintain inventory for First Aid boxes located throughout campus
  • Ensure AED machines are serviced in working order
  • Athlete health records; annual online process to request required-to- participate medical information and proof of required physical and coordination of concussion benchmark process
  • Attend Athletic home games on campus; provide Athletic Trainer emergency health care
  • Provide assistance in an emergency health response on campus including responding when a 911 call has been made
  • Conduct Employee TB Risk Assessments
  • Coordinate Faculty/Staff CPR, AED and First Aid Certification Training
  • Maintain an office procedure manual

Pandemic Coordination (as relevant)

  • Stay current on all aspects of the Pandemic; complete relevant trainings and webinars
  • Review and analyze new and changing best practice guidelines and relevant research
  • Designated liaison to CDC and LA County Public Health
  • Create and maintain school-specific resources such as the COVID-19 Containment, Response and Control Plan
  • Create and manage self-reporting and school conducted screening procedures including technical solutions where applicable, or alternative options as needed
  • Coordinate adequate PPE and supplies, and other logistical support as required
  • Create the procedures and facilitate the steps that will be taken immediately upon any member of the school community tests positive for, or has symptoms consistent with COVID-19
  • Develop a decision-making advisory group to assist at the health office visit triage stage, when determining whether symptoms are probable COVID-19 or related to another reason
  • Member of the Pandemic Compliance team
  • Coordinate a testing program
  • Prepare procedural materials including presentations, trainings, process maps, supporting metrics, business requirements and related analyses
  • Assure proper documentation and maintenance of recordkeeping; monitor compliance to an action plan and modify and recommend process improvement as needed

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree: preferred in a related field
  • Current Healthcare certification (e.g. RN, EMT, Wilderness First Responder, etc.)
  • Understanding of school operations and cultural dynamics
  • Pandemic related training preferred
