The Karsh Family Social Service Center (the “Karsh Center”) at Wilshire Boulevard Temple is in the heart of Los Angeles’s Koreatown neighborhood. The Karsh Center, established in 2016, is a social service center offering integrated services focusing on Food and Nutrition Security, Health and Wellness, Legal Services, Parent and Child Well-being for individuals and families living in the vicinity of the Karsh Center. Centralizing these services directly with the assistance of volunteers and through a collaboration of social service providers at the Karsh Center enables us to offer a variety of vital services to our community. The Karsh Center is a 501 (c)(3) non-religious organization.

Primary Responsibilities

The Karsh Center is seeking a Case Manager to join our team and launch our Care Coordination Program. This is a new and exciting opportunity to support clients in achieving stability and security by helping them accomplish their established goals. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about helping community members access resources, thoughtful in their approach and is bilingual in English and Spanish. The Case Manager is responsible for providing case management services and facilitating community workshops.The Case Manager reports to the Director of Programs and Operations. This position requires work from the office and pays an hourly rate between $22 to $24, depending on experience, with full benefits.

The Case Manager will:

  • Provide case management services to a diverse range of clients
  • Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments
  • Develop positive working relationships with collaborator organizations, clients, staff and volunteers
  • Follow up with clients and families regarding linkage, resources, and services to ensure their needs are being met
  • Help manage incoming and outgoing referrals
  • Use a trauma-informed care approach
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date resource database
  • Lead outreach/educational presentations to various communities about services
  • Plan and implement workshops focused on clients’ need and organizational goals
  • Completes all required documentation and maintains clients’ files updated
  • Attend on-going trainings and workshops about our care coordination services
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings with community service providers to stay informed about relevant resources for clients and the community at-large
  • Help implement surveys to evaluate program and ongoing need
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in case management and social services
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and written skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Knowledge of various community resources
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and organizations
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with good time management skills
  • Commitment to working with a diverse population
  • Flexible and comfortable with change
  • Ability to organize and prepare documentation in a timely manner
  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, human services, mental health or other-related field from an accredited College or University, or AA degree in social work or related field with 2 years of experience
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, GSuite technology, and Mac OS
  • Must be vaccinated against Covid-19
  • Valid California driver’s license or California ID
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
