Chrysalis is growing and we are adding to our HR team! In close partnership with the Vice President, Human Resources, the HR Director is responsible for managing an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes a high level of engagement, quality, continuous improvement, employee retention and development, and high performance. The HR Director delivers in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee onboarding and development.

Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

Benefits Administration:

  • Oversee the management research, analyze, evaluate, and administer corporate benefit plans and programs.
  • Development, of updates and distribution of benefits communications.
  • Serves as one of the primary employee benefits contact.
  • Responsible for planning of open enrollment and new employee benefits orientation meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA
  • Oversee the ACA Reporting monthly and annual process.
  • Oversee the monthly benefits audit.
  • Responsible for tracking, open workers compensation claims and oversight of workers compensation depositions.
  • Maintain workers compensation reports and provide monthly reports to the VP, Human Resources

Recruiting & Staffing:

  • Oversee the building and maintaining relationships with leaders internally and externally for networking and referrals.
  • Oversight of full life-cycle recruitment process for all open positions assigned.
  • Creation of the candidate and hiring manager feedback process.
  • Weekly status report regarding filled, pending, in-process, and posted requisitions.
  • Anticipate and communicate hiring roadblocks in advance and proactively remove obstacles.
  • Oversee the training hiring managers on best practices for talent acquisition, interviewing and candidate assessment.
  • Provide monthly reporting to VP, Human Resources.

Employee Onboarding:

  • Oversight of the management and facilitation of staff onboarding with key stakeholders and expand scope and quality of current process.
  • Oversee new hire life cycle; new hire packets, background checks, ensure compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
  • Work closely with Training Manager to build out onboarding throughout the organization.

Benefits Administration:

Employee Engagement:

  • Provide to VP, Human Resources HR metrics reporting of employee surveys, exit interviews.
  • Maintenance of 90-day and annual performance reviews.
  • Provide a high level of customer service by responding to daily inquiries relating to company policies, programs and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement regular enhancements to engagement programs as part of continuous improvement efforts.

Employee Relations:

  • In partnership with VP, Human Resources promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues and address grievances
  • Oversight of the processing of complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR, Recruiting, Benefits, Employee Relations or similar roles.
  • HR Certification SHRM-CP/PHR desired.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, Google Suite and MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Understanding of state and federal laws. EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, DOL, OSHA.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Professional, personable, high energy and customer service-oriented.
  • Ability to be flexible, meet deadlines, establish priorities, and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in handling confidential matters and external and internal inquiries with the highest degree of discretion and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals with competing priorities.
