Founded in 1963 by Dionicio Morales, an inspiring, altruistic community leader dedicated to protecting the rights of Hispanic workers and empowering them to lead meaningful and productive lives, Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF) honors and celebrates its Mexican heritage just as it honors and celebrates the diverse cultures of its clientele.

For almost 60 years, MAOF has been providing essential social services to the most vulnerable families in California – now serving over 125,000 children and adults annually throughout seven counties (Los Angeles, Kern, Monterey, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura). The organization’s mission is to provide for the socio-economic betterment of the greater Latino community of California, which is accomplished through programs such as childcare, early childhood education, senior services, financial empowerment programs, immigration support, tax services and other community support services such as meal distribution and most recently health screenings and vaccinations. This vast array of programs is a direct result of MAOF being highly attuned with and responsive to ever-evolving needs in the community.

Today, MAOF is the largest Latino-oriented, family services organization in the United States and it continues to expand geographically and programmatically as the vanguard of social programs that strengthen family and community.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, MAOF is seeking an experienced, high-profile executive leader to carry on the legacy of their retiring President and Chief Executive Officer, with a strong history of programmatic excellence. The next President and CEO is an experienced nonprofit professional who is passionate about Latino community needs and empowering the Mexican American/Latino population. As a purpose-driven leader, the ideal candidate will lead the dynamic leadership team and more than 900 dedicated staff members to embody the organization's mission, vision, and core values. As the face of MAOF, they will responsibly expand partnerships with community leaders, thus enhancing the organization’s nationwide profile.

Responsible for an operating budget of $120M, the next President & CEO is high-achieving and analytical, providing strategic foresight while artfully implementing strategic plans. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication capabilities that will help to advance MAOF's priorities, including both fundraising and programming initiatives.
