With an operating budget of $48.9 million, Wayfinder provides an array of services in 22 counties throughout California.
Wayfinder is seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who is responsible for carrying out the mission of Wayfinder as it pertains to financial plans and policies, daily organizational financial activities, internal controls, financial risk management, and building and maintaining relationships with lenders. The CFO will staff the Finance and the Investment Committees, support other Board committees as designated, and keep the Board apprised of the financial condition of Wayfinder. Overseeing a team of 15, the CFO’s senior team will include the Vice President of Finance, the Director of Contracts and the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.
The CFO will have at least ten years of progressive responsibility overseeing financial services. The successful candidate will likely have at least five years of experience in senior leadership with the proven ability to lead and support a cohesive, multisite, high performing team. Experience managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) for a complex nonprofit entity is essential. Although the individual could come from a variety of fields, the CFO will ideally have experience with diverse program areas and multiple funding sources including government (federal and state) contracts. A background in human service, healthcare, managed care, or mental health would be a plus. Experience with mergers and acquisitions would be highly valued. A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA and/or CPA is preferred. The salary range is $200,000 to $250,000 based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
