Founded in 2006 by Holocaust survivor Earl Greif, the mission of the Tolerance Education Center (TEC) is to promote tolerance, civility, respect and understanding by the elimination of atrocities, hatred, and bigotry. The Center’s programs, activities and exhibits provide an educational opportunity for students and the community at large to learn to reduce prejudice, teach critical thinking, and empower those who visit to take a more active role in creating a more humane society. The Center’s goal is to encourage visitors to reject prejudice and hate, question stereotypes, and embrace diversity through our educational and public programs, including lectures, films, exhibits, and presentations. Local students visit TEC on field trips to hear first-hand accounts from survivors of the Holocaust, other genocides, and other incidences of hate crimes.
Reporting to the Board President, the Executive Director serves as the Center’s creative leader who implements their overarching vision while overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. The Executive Director will manage internal processes and the budget, oversee and implement programs, and conduct outreach and forge partnerships to advance the Center’s mission.
