The Fund for Guaranteed income is seeking a Communications & Operations Associate to create and share digital content, conduct donor and stakeholder research, and support customer service for program participants. This is an opportunity to join a small and motivated team that is working to end wealth inequality through work with guaranteed income and alternatives to incarceration. The position will report directly to Nika Soon-Shiong, Executive Director of F4GI. This position is for the duration of one year with the possibility of renewal based on performance. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills. Ability to speak Spanish is required. 

The Fund for Guaranteed Income (F4GI) launched in August 2020 to design, research, build and implement the infrastructure of a more equitable society. Our small, innovative team aims to address wealth inequality by building programs and tools that break down barriers to wealth building for communities and generate insights for policymakers. Our work is guided by the following principles: 

  • Listen and serve community: We co-design with the communities we serve. Feedback and community input is essential. 
  • Start small and change often: We start simply and improve through iteration. We value tools that work today— and user adoption over all else. 
  • Keep focused on the big picture: We build to support decarceration; not to make the current system of incarceration more efficient. 


Prior experience is not required for all functional responsibilities, but you should be excited about these tasks and ready to learn. 

  • Communications 
    • Digital content creation and strategy 
      • Create digital content for social media (instagram, twitter, facebook) and our mailchimp newsletter, using new or existing templates 
      • Creatively write captions in tone of the organization 
      • Design and create ad hoc content, like for a program progress report 
    • Management and operation of social media (instagram, twitter, facebook, mailchimp) 
      • Manage and operate social media, including weekly timeline for engagements 
      • Post content on social media (instagram, twitter, facebook) and mailchimp 
      • Lead social media strategy based on research (i.e. frequency of posting of hashtag selection)
      • Manage social media growth based on industry best practices and proven techniques
      • Research 
  • Conduct funder and stakeholder research to help team prepare for external meetings; identify which donors align with our organization’s mission and interests 
  • Customer Service 
    • Serve as customer service point person for the Compton Pledge’s participants, answering daily questions and solving problems, and referring larger issues to the team as needed 
    • NOTE: Spanish fluency required



  • Fluent in Spanish 
  • Bachelers or higher degree in a relevant field 
  • At least two years of experience with the majority of the functional responsibilities, especially communications and customer service 
  • Proficient with Figma, Canva, Mailchimp, Wordpress (elementor) working knowledge of Adobe photoshop and illustrator
  • Excited about helping program participants 
  • Great at figuring out how to connect with people 
  • Self-driven 



  • We are based in Los Angeles and collaborate fully remote (meet up in person at least once a quarter and hope to do so more)
