A Place Called Home is a dynamic, non-profit youth and community center in South Central Los Angeles. APCH provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes, fitness and health and wellness opportunities. As youth participate in our programs, they discover interests and talents and develop a better sense of themselves and their place in the world around them. Our goal is to increase the likelihood that youth will stay in school, pursue higher education, attain viable jobs, and become active community members capable of making positive change in the world in which they live.
Job Title: Health Care Aide
Reports to: Director of Counseling
Hours: 20 hours per week (40 hours during the summer)
As part of the Counseling Department, the Health Care Aide (HCA) promotes a healthy after school environment for the emotional and physical safety of students. The Health Care Aide will be at the front-line for member safety and well-being. The Health Care Aide assesses members who are ill or injured and determines if further medical attention is needed during the after-school programming hours (2:00 pm - 7:00 pm) Monday through Friday.

COVID related responsibilities: The HCA will have the opportunity to standardize processes related to COVID Response and protocols.
