ABOUT HTLA HIGH SCHOOL
Our mission statement: “HighTech LA is a diverse community of active learners dedicated to fusing the traditional academic subjects with real-world technical applications and problem-solving skills. Students are productive, self-directed learners, engaged in rigorous, relevant work. HTLA prepares students to be motivated, influential, leaders committed to the challenge of connecting our community to the larger society.” In 2019, 100% of graduating class went onto attend college.
HighTech LA, established in 2002, is a 400 student college- preparatory charter high school in the San Fernando Valley (Northern Los Angeles.). HTLA is a 2019 California Distinguished School and 2017 Gold Ribbon School. According to Niche HTLA is #9 of 417 Best Charter High Schools in CA and our teachers ranked in the top 0.8% in their national, state, county and city lists.

We believe in helping students use information technology to better learn and more creatively express their learning. We believe in hearing teachers’ ideas on school-wide issues including curriculum development, pedagogy, and student relations.

We believe in serving our community. Approximately half of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Fifteen different languages are spoken by our students.
All instructional personnel are required to hold valid California teaching credentials, permits or certificates appropriate to the assignment. Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfaction of certain pre-employment verifications and clearances including, but not limited to, a single subject teaching credential or authorization to teach English, DOJ fingerprint clearance, verification of eligibility to work in the United States, and TB clearance.
