We are seeking people who find purpose in solving complex and critical social issues including homelessness, climate change, racial disparity, educational inequities, and immigration reform. 

Swell Creative Group seeks a mid-level digital designer who’s passionate about social change to join our design department. The Social Media Designer will gain experience on projects that create real and lasting impact in Los Angeles and beyond. In conjunction with Swell’s content creators, this person will create impactful assets for a diverse array of social enterprises, NPOs, and government agencies. Assets will be used across clients’ social media platforms, emails, newsletters, and other campaign materials under the direction of department and client leadership. This position reports to the Associate Creative Director and is responsible for creating innovative design solutions based around each client’s specific mission, vision, purpose, and goals. 


  • Design highly effective and professional social media and email assets for multiple clients to build brand awareness, increase strong community engagement, and support specific CTAs. This may include animation, static and motion graphics, photography, typography, and more.
  • Stay up to date with changes and trends in social platforms to ensure maximum effectiveness;
  • Manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and respond to feedback in a timely manner while adhering to best-in-practice standards for each clients’ industries.



  • BA in Graphic Design or related area.
  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience, agency experience highly preferred;
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Sketch) required. Additional skills such as UI, UX, or Motion Graphics are a plus;
  • Thrives in high-volume settings and bring flexibility and a team-centered approach to all projects;
  • Excited about trends in design, technology, and communications;
  • Passionate about digital storytelling and bringing creativity to life in the social space;
  • Creative eye, attention to detail and entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Proven talent in digital design, motion and video graphics, paid advertising, and social media;
  • Collaborative, reliable, candid, open, and deliberate partner unsatisfied with the status quo and comfortable with ambiguity;
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion;
  • Commitment to own growth and reflection;
  • Clear, professional, and effective communication;
  • A desire to leave your mark, be held accountable, make space for others, stay hungry for more, and commit yourself to the cause;

This is an exempt, full-time position based in Los Angeles. Due to COVID-19 safety concerns, the position will either onboard virtually or with limited interaction onsite and continue with a hybrid model of remote and on-site work. You will be provided a laptop, but must establish a space with stable internet connectivity from which to work remotely during business hours. While performing regular duties, you will be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, or kneel, and to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
