Swell is an award-winning creative company out to reimagine social impact. Our mission, vision and purpose is to empower people to create lasting change. We partner with global brands and causes to create meaningful experiences and movements that push the boundaries of what creative can do. With our clients we solve huge, audacious problems.

Our name is our statement of purpose. Every movement needs a groundswell of believers to catch fire and break through to create real and lasting impact.

We are seeking people who find purpose in solving complex and critical social issues including homelessness, climate change, racial disparity, educational inequities, and immigration reform.

 Swell Creative Group seeks a strategic leader and professional coach to serve as its People & Culture Officer. Our organization has more than quadrupled in size since its founding in 2015. With this rapid growth comes greater responsibility and opportunity for professional development, operationalized performance management, monitored health of organizational culture, structured company policies and procedures, and dedicated employee relations.

The People & Culture Officer will report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with members of the Swell Leadership Team, including the COO and Managing Director on a vision and direction for talent acquisition, development, and retention of Swell’s 25+ person team. This critical role will be directly responsible for the strategic and tactical oversight of all aspects of Swell’s talent-related initiatives. We need someone who can solve meaningful problems and values results over effort.

This position represents an exciting opportunity to directly impact the experience of all Swell employees and continue to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive people-focused culture while maintaining and upholding Swell’s values. In short, we want to ensure that the experience our people have is, well, Swell.

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in at least two or more of the following functional areas: recruitment/staffing/talent acquisition, human resources, performance management, employee relations and engagement, DEI and executive leadership;

  • A track record of developing and implementing innovative and progressive human capital and organizational culture systems;

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion;
  • Commitment to own growth and reflection;
  • Clear, professional, and effective communication;
  • A desire to leave your mark, be held accountable, make space for others, stay hungry for more, and commit yourself to the cause.
